Keele University Glazing & Roofline Upgrade – 2026 Project
Strata Commercial Glazing has successfully completed another major phase of improvement works at Keele University in Staffordshire, continuing our involvement in the ongoing upgrade of buildings across the university campus.
This year’s project involved the installation of 400 grey uPVC windows, the replacement of more than 1,000 metres of soffits, fascias and guttering, and the installation of new aluminium block entrance doors.
Despite the scale and logistical challenges involved, the project was successfully completed on time and within budget.
400 New Grey uPVC Windows
A major part of the project involved replacing and installing approximately 400 grey uPVC windows across the building.
The new windows provide a smart, consistent finish while offering the durability and low-maintenance benefits required for a busy educational environment.
Completing an installation of this scale required careful planning and coordination throughout the project, ensuring work could progress efficiently across the different areas of the building.

Over 1,000 Metres of New Soffits, Fascias and Guttering
Alongside the window replacement programme, our team completed the replacement of more than 1,000 metres of soffits, fascias and guttering.
These works have refreshed the exterior of the building while providing durable weather protection and helping to reduce future maintenance requirements.
Completing the glazing and roofline elements as part of the same wider project also allowed the exterior improvements to be coordinated effectively from start to finish.

New Aluminium Entrance Doors
The project also included the installation of new aluminium entrance doors to the building’s communal block entrances.
Aluminium is particularly well suited to high-traffic commercial and educational environments thanks to its strength, durability and modern appearance.
The new entrances complement the grey window systems and wider external improvements, creating a consistent finish across the completed building.

Overcoming a Complex Scaffolding Challenge
One of the biggest challenges during the project was the requirement to erect full scaffolding around the entire building.
With a project of this size, coordinating access, installation teams, materials and scaffolding presented several logistical challenges throughout the programme.
Working closely with everyone involved, these issues were successfully resolved as they arose, allowing work to continue safely and efficiently without compromising the overall programme.
Delivered On Time and Within Budget
Careful project management was essential throughout every stage of the Keele University works.
Despite the extensive scope of the project and the challenges associated with scaffolding and access, all elements were successfully completed within the agreed timescale and budget.
The completed project demonstrates Strata Commercial Glazing’s ability to manage large-scale window, door and building-envelope improvement programmes while maintaining quality, safety and effective project coordination.
